Century Mile sits on the edge of Edmonton International Airport, which is an odd place for a racetrack until you remember what it replaced. When Northlands Park closed after decades in the city, Alberta's Thoroughbred racing needed somewhere to go. Century Mile opened on April 1, 2019 and took the whole operation with it.

Live racing runs year round across three breeds, Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse and Standardbred, which is unusual. Most tracks pick one discipline and stay there.
The backstretch is built to match: over 800 stalls plus veterinary space, purpose-built rather than inherited. Century Mile also hosts the Canadian Derby, the province's flagship race and one of the oldest stakes races in the country.

What the gaming floor actually has
Here is the thing to understand before you drive out: there are no live dealers.
The floor carries over 600 electronic gaming machines, a mix of slots and VLTs, plus electronic blackjack, baccarat and roulette across a multi-level layout. There is off-track betting, electronic horse racing, and the REPLAY Arena for historical racing machines.

4711 Airport Perimeter Road, Nisku, immediately beside the airport. That is roughly 25 minutes south of downtown Edmonton and genuinely convenient if you are flying, which is a real use case here: it is one of the few casinos in Canada you can reasonably kill a four-hour layover in.
Parking is free and plentiful, which cannot be said for the downtown Calgary rooms.

The machine floor is large and modern, the building is bright, and the 3:00am close gives it a longer runway than most.
The weakness is atmosphere. An airport-perimeter racino is never going to feel like a night out the way Calgary's downtown rooms do.
